Description

Cherie: I just got to feel that whoever I marry has some real regard for me, aside from all that lovin' stuff.
-----

It's been too long since my last couples picture, so I decided to whip one up~

This time we get Cherie (played by Marilyn Monroe) and Beau (played by Don Murray). They're from the 1956 film, Bus Stop, a very sweet little film. It's a dramadie, but for this one the drama and comedy is sometimes a little unbalanced, but it's still a fine movie. 'Sides, it's just wonderful to see Marilyn in a more serious role.

So, Bo here has lived on the ranch all his life. And, when he finally goes to the city to compete in a rodeo, the first real woman he sees is--of course--Marilyn Monroe. And, well, one thing leads to another, and...

I s'pose if you were to watch only one scene from this film, I'd have to link ya where Marilyn sings That Old Black Magic: [link] (Unfortunately the only video I could find has the dialogue in french... but at least the song itself is still in English.)

Mainly playing with lighting on this one. It was fun~

I always felt it was Monroe's best dramatic performance, maybe tied wth some parts of "Niagara" and "The Misfits".  Murray was a good balance for her, and Arthur O'Connor was good support.
